Section Staff/Skill Assistant responsibilities are two-fold. The first responsibility is to a specific living section of campers. Duties include the general day-to-day care and supervision of the campers. This will include, but not be limited to, living in the sections, meals, guidance, and assuring that each camper’s stay is enjoyable, safe, and provides some kind of personal growth. The second responsibility is in a program area. This staff member will provide assistance to a skill instructor in a given skill area. Duties include assisting in supervision, development, teaching and maintaining of the particular program area. Assisting the senior staff in their responsibilities will be several teenage Jr. Staff volunteers. Jr. Staff members will be under the direct supervision of the senior staff member. The senior staff role is that of a mentor; teaching both skills and responsibility to the Jr. Staff as they pass through the hands-on training program.
