Besides being fun to use, computers have become an integral part of modern life. Computer literacy is an increasingly useful element of a student’s educational background; therefore it is no wonder that Matoaka’s elective computer program grabs the interest and imagination of more and more campers each year.
Within the Matoaka computer department, girls have the opportunity to learn the basics of photo-editing, sound editing and web-page design. Topics such as word processing and Internet use are touched upon as well. Campers apply their skills towards creating t-shirts, posters, song recordings and much more. For free time use and pure fun, we have plenty of the girls' favorite video games on hand! Computer instructors sometimes act as computer consultants to the office staff and provide technical help with hardware and software applications.
