PURPOSE
To supervise Learning Disabled/ADD/ADHD children in all areas of camp life.
To identify and meet the needs of the camper and the Star Ranch summer camp program.
MAJOR FUNCTIONS
-Teach, lead or assist in activities throughout the day
-Ensure that campers are having the most fun they can legally have
-Supervise all aspects of the camper’s day, including cabin times, medications, meal times, rest period, hygiene, interpersonal relationships, and clean cabin
-Be ENTHUSIASTIC, POSITIVE, and ENCOURAGING
-Set a good example for campers and others including cleanliness, punctuality, sharing, clean-up and chores, sportsmanship and table manners
-Guide groups and individual campers in participating successfully in all camp activities
-Follow camp rules and regulations including those pertaining to smoking, use of alcohol and drugs, and time off
-Actively, and supportively, participate in all activities
OTHER FUNCTIONS
-Ensure the safety of campers and other staff
-Conduct and support Christian devotions in the cabin
-Monitor camper progress, and complete camper reports for primary campers
-Encourage respect for personal property, camp equipment, and facilities
-Prepare for and actively participate in staff training, meetings, and devotions
-Conduct daily check of cabin, program area and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and good repair.
-Intervene in crisis situations & homesickness
-These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required.
