It is the instructor’s responsibility to show students that public speaking can be fun. This position also requires that you will assist the Camp Director and other staff in the execution of a successful, safe, and fun series of camps. Responsibilities include teaching the Public Speaking Curriculum, maintaining a safe working environment for campers grades 4 -12, supervising campers both in and out of the classroom, and assisting the camp director with a small number of administrative tasks.

Most teaching will be done solo in a small group setting of 10 - 12 students per session. However, some co-teaching to the entire group of campers may happen periodically. Instruction will occur for about two and one half-hours in the morning, two to three hours in the afternoon and two hours in the evening. It is expected that the majority of class time will be spent on speaking activities with very little lecture.
< P >
There will also be a few hours of recreation or an excursion each day. Some general supervision typical of a camp environment is required and will be coordinated by the camp director, with rotations of duties used to insure reasonable breaks are given to all faculty and staff.
