GENERAL PURPOSE < P > This position is responsible for teaching at the Computer camp. Contractor will also support the Technology on the development of a curriculum prior to the start of the camp. This position also is required to assist the Camp Director and other staff in transporting the computer lab between sites. The contractor is in effect responsible for assisting the Computer Camp Coordinator in the execution of a successful series of camps. < P > NATURE OF POSITION < P > The Computer Camp instructor must have current expertise in all the basic parts of the computer curriculum including HTML and JAVA, web layout and design and some knowledge of basic applications programs including word processors, databases and spreadsheets. < P > The primary responsibility for the contractor will be to teach the computer curriculum at the Computer Camp. However, this position includes some responsibilities prior to the beginning of the camp, some general supervision while at the camp and assistance with the movement the computer lab between sites. < P > The set-up part of this position will first require the incumbent to review the curriculum for the program. Contractor will assist in organizing curriculum for the camp including handouts, projects and assignments for the students to do at the camp in consultation with Curriculum Director and Camp Director < P > During the camp the Instructor will be one of the primary teachers in the computer lab. Instruction will occur for about two and one half-hours in the morning, two to three hours in the afternoon and two to three hours in the evening. There will also be a few hours of open lab time or an excursion each day. Some general supervision typical of a camp environment is also required, and will be coordinated by the camp director, with rotations of duties used to insure reasonable breaks are given to all faculty and staff. < P > Finally, the contractor is required to assist in the successful move and set up of the computer lab. This will include all aspects of the move including packing and unpacking the equipment, connecting and disconnecting the network, installing the software and trouble-shooting for the lab. This may also include driving time between sites with the equipment. < P > < P > PERCENT OF TIME KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION < P > 60% Computer instruction and lab supervision at each of the campsites. < P > 25% Supervision and other administrative responsibilities while at the campsites. < P > 5% Set up work, primarily curriculum review in consultation with the Coordinator. < P > 10% Moving the computer lab between sites and set up and tear down of the lab before and after the move. < P > < P > COMPENSATION < P > Compensation for this position starts at $805 per week and depends upon experience. Position will be paid as an independent contractor. Room and board is included.
